Family Law Clinic Contract Attorney

Position Description Atlanta Legal Aid Society (“Legal Aid”) seeks a part-time Contract Attorney for its Family Law Clinic in Gwinnett County. Founded in 1924, our non-profit law firm represents low-income people in a variety of civil legal matters, including family, housing, consumer, public benefits, education, and health law in a five-county service area (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett). The Gwinnett County Office currently consists of a Managing Attorney, an Intake Receptionist, seven Staff Attorneys, and five Paralegals. Responsibilities: The attorney will advise and assist unrepresented litigants with completing pro se forms, but will not provide representation. The advice areas include divorce, separate maintenance, legitimation, custody, visitation, child support, alimony, contempt, family violence protective orders, name change, birth certificate amendment, domestication, and temporary minor guardianship.
