Family Law - Associate Attorney

About the role

Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Family Law Associate Attorney to join our award-winning Family Law team. We welcome candidates with family law experience as well as civil litigation attorneys looking to transition into family law practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad spectrum of matters, including divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child support modifications, and more.
• Manage all aspects of litigation from inception to resolution, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court.
• Collaborate closely with experienced partners to take on challenging cases and receive mentorship.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience handling family law litigation matters, or 3+ years of experience handling civil litigation matters with a desire to transition into family law.
• Experience preparing for, taking, and defending depositions; briefing and arguing discovery and dispositive motions; attending mediations; and interfacing with clients and opposing counsel (preferred).
• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs and other pleadings addressing sophisticated legal issues in complex family law matters.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while also collaborating with team members.
• Client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the California State Bar required.

Pay

The expected base salary range is $145,000-$170,000, however actual compensation will be determined based on experience.
