FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE TEACHER - 200 DAY

Full-time, 200-day position located at Brentsville High School in Nokesville, VA.

About the role

This position plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students. The teacher manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement, modifies instructional activities as required, and carries out a variety of student monitoring and control activities. Responsibilities may include teaching single or multi-grade level classes, subject-specific, skill-based, or specialty-oriented courses within a team or departmental setting, or independently in a unique teaching specialty.

This role may be assigned to science labs, industrial arts/technology labs, or other education labs where heightened monitoring is required to reduce the risk of accidental injury to students. The position operates under the general supervision of a principal or other designated administrator.

An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instructional programs tailored to Family & Consumer Science curriculum.
• Manage student behavior and classroom dynamics.
• Assess and evaluate student achievement, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
• Monitor and control student activities, particularly in lab settings, to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with team members or work independently, depending on assignment.
• Perform duties within a departmental or team-based structure.
