FAMILY CONSULTANT

Position Overview

KidsPeace is seeking a Therapeutic Foster Care Caseworker to support children and families in foster care. This role involves assessing family needs, ensuring child safety, coordinating services, and facilitating engagement between youth, families, and foster families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective case management services, including scheduling counseling sessions, ensuring completion of required medical and dental exams, tracking services, and completing timely and thorough documentation.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards, parental consent, and release of information requirements.
• Conduct weekly casework contacts with a minimum of twice monthly visits in the foster home setting, focusing on treatment goals and building effective, supportive relationships.
• Assess family strengths and needs, identify problem areas, and utilize appropriate treatment modalities and resources to support growth and positive change.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment and discharge plans.
• Facilitate engagement and communication among youth, families, and foster families through various methods such as phone calls, face-to-face contacts, family conferences, treatment reviews, and others.
• Aid in permanency planning, including reunification efforts between youth and their families.
• Collaborate with other agencies and outside service providers to address educational, medical, and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with Child and Family Services.
• Valid driver’s license.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability and desire to work as part of a collaborative team, and strong communication skills.
