Do you enjoy working with families and individuals in their own environments? Are you passionate about providing services that incorporate families and caregivers in the treatment process to help ensure a child’s positive involvement at home, school, or within the community? If you answered YES, consider joining the Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services team as a Family Based Therapist. Based out of the Malvern location, you will work with dedicated professionals to create focused, customized treatment plans for children, adolescents, and their families throughout Chester County, PA, using the ESFT Model. Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges. Located in West Chester and Malvern, DPACS provides psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community‑based mental health services, community‑based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services for males and females aged 6‑21 with diagnoses such as intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and concomitant psychiatric/behavioral challenges often linked to trauma.
Responsibilities
- Visit children and families within their natural setting—home, school, or community.
- Offer parents effective management skills and approaches to improve the child’s well‑being.
- Help the child or young adult learn skills to succeed in school, follow directions at home, develop and maintain positive community
