About the role

This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, presenting lessons that accommodate different learning styles, and teaching within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the appropriate grade level.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for student learning styles.
  • Teach according to guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations.
  • Establish efficient classroom management procedures and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
  • Evaluate students' progress and report to parents as required.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals.
  • Participate in the development of the evaluation system for the principal.
  • Interpret the educational programs to the community through activities like open houses and PTA meetings.
  • Work locations include the Rosie Mc Sorrell School Of Education And Social Srvcs, with full-time hours and a schedule that may require travel throughout the district.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • A valid Texas teacher certificate with the necessary subject and subject level endorsements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of various routine tasks, duties, and procedures, with the ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience.
