FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE TEACHER -DOVER HIGH SCHOOL- 2026-2027

About the role

Familial and consumer science teachers at Dover High School are needed for the 2026-2027 academic year. Proper New Jersey instructional certification is required, along with appropriate certifications in Family & Consumer Sciences, such as Certificate 1705 for Comprehensive, Certificate 1706 for Child and Family Development, or Certificate 1707 for Foods, Nutrition and Food Science. Candidates with backgrounds in nutrition, food science, culinary arts, child development, human development, family studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Alternate Route candidates may also be considered and supported, provided they meet New Jersey certification eligibility requirements and have an appropriate bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Family & Consumer Sciences
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and student outcomes
• Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

• New Jersey instructional certification
• Appropriate Family & Consumer Sciences certification (Certificate 1705, 1706, or 1707)
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in nutrition, food science, culinary arts, child development, human development, family studies, or related fields
