Hands-on production pathway building skills in concept development, camera, lighting, audio, on-air performance, and editing for school broadcast and digital platforms.
About the role
- Learn to produce professional video content using HD cameras, lighting, sound equipment, and editing software.
- Explore the full pipeline—from concept to final product—and sample roles such as directing, camera, motion graphics/animation, scriptwriting, producing, and reporting.
- Builds on first-year skills with advanced projects and production schedules. Emphasis on creating webcasts, podcasts, and program segments such as short films, newscasts, talk shows, sports shows, and arts features.
- Upper-level capstone where students take greater responsibility for producing content for the student-run TV station, covering live events, highlights, commentary, and post-production workflows.
Qualifications
- Introductory (Start here) – Broadcast 1
- Broadcast 2 (builds on first-year skills)
- Capstone: Advanced Live Event Broadcasting and Production Honors
UC Approval: Visual Arts F (Broadcast 1 & 2), Pending UC Approval: Visual Arts F Honors (Capstone)
