Fall Varsity Assistant Cheer Coach - High School

Responsibilities

• Helps to teach skills, lead practices, and help run sideline cheer during games.
• Affords support and encouragement to students participating in the athletics program.
• Enforces safety rules and standards, models positive behavior, and upholds fair play.
• Trains students in the basic skills necessary for the assigned sport.
• Works with staff volunteers and assists in planning, executing awards ceremonies, and ensuring all documentation is submitted.

Qualifications

• Previous experience coaching in a similar sport is strongly preferred.
• Experience in teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned is preferred.
• Ability to acquire First Aid, CPR, AED, and Concussion training certifications.
• Ability to acquire training as required by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License, if transporting students.
• Availability to attend activities, practices, games, and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to relate well to others.

Supervision

• Coaches Assistants, if any assigned.

Evaluation

To be completed by Athletic Director.

Terms of Employment

• Stipend as negotiated per agreement.
