FALL 2026: LEAD COACH - FLAG FOOTBALL (SAN DIEGO)

This part-time Lead Coach position is perfect for college students or anyone looking to spend more time on the field with kids. Responsibilities
- Serve as the direct contact with kids and families to ensure a safe and fun experience.
- Run practices for groups ranging from 10 to 50+ kids.
- Plan practice drills using provided resources and curriculum.
- Lead both kids and other coaches through program drills in a fun and engaging way.
- Keep players engaged by transitioning smoothly between drills and utilizing volunteers to minimize downtime.
- Lead pre-game and post-game huddles that emphasize sportsmanship and mindfulness.
- Handle field setup and cleanup each week.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers regarding drills, roles, or any issues that arise with parents, players, or venues.
- Assist with administrative support as needed.
- Report any issues involving players, parents, referees, coaches, or venues to the site lead.
Schedule
- Primary Location: Walker Elementary (Mira Mesa, San Diego) – Tuesdays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (September 22 – October 27).
- Additional Opportunities:
- Wednesdays in Sherman Heights, 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM (soccer).
- Thursdays in Oak Park, 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM (basketball).
- Thursdays in Logan Heights, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM (soccer).
- Fridays in Linda Vista, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (soccer).
Requirements
- Availability to coach in the specified San Diego locations and times.
- Experience coaching youth sports (football experience is noted in the application questions).
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States for Volo (sponsorship not provided).
- Reliable method of transportation.
