About the role
The Michigan Supreme Court is seeking qualified applicants for an Internship or Externship to Justice Elizabeth M. Welch. The expected commitment is 10 to 25 hours per week, beginning in late-August or early-September and lasting into December 2026. Some in-person availability at the Michigan Hall of Justice in Lansing on Wednesdays is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research

Requirements
- Current Juris Doctor (JD) candidate from an accredited law school
- Completion of 1L coursework
- Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
- Proficiency in current word processing and online legal research tools
