About the role

The Co-op Program at Kokosing is designed to provide students with practical construction industry experience, the chance to work on value-added projects, connect with a mentor in their field of study, network with senior leaders, team members, and other co-ops, and so much more.

Responsibilities

• Work with Full Time construction professionals to gain guidance and share expertise on various tasks.
• Experience firsthand the completion of quality projects through specific project responsibilities and daily activities.
• Contribute to the completion of a quality project under the supervision and support of supervisors and project staff.
• Present on the culmination of their learning and experiences during the term at the Co-op Capstone Event.
• Work in a laborer role as part of the construction crew, depending on the region and project availability.

Kokosing offers opportunities in various business units including Heavy Highway, Heavy Civil, Heavy Industrial, Project Management, Project Engineering, Safety Specialist, Surveying, Estimating, Marine Work, Project Design & Procurement, Business Development Support, Operations, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Heavy Equipment Repair, and field/trade experience positions across Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina, and other regions.

Qualifications

Students interested in a co-op experience for the Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters are encouraged to apply. Kokosing seeks individuals who can demonstrate a strong interest in the construction industry and possess the necessary skills and qualities to succeed in this role.

Skills

While no specific skills are required, a strong foundation in construction, engineering, or related fields is beneficial. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important.
