Stevens Institute of Technology’s School of Business is seeking adjunct instructors for its Business undergraduate program for the upcoming semester.

About the role

This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position. Courses may be taught in-person, online, or in a hybrid format, depending on program needs. Adjunct appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments in alignment with course objectives and department standards.
  • Facilitate student learning through clear instruction, meaningful discussions, and real-world applications.
  • Evaluate and grade student work in a timely, fair, and constructive manner.
  • Provide academic support through office hours or scheduled meetings.
  • Collaborate with the department chair, course coordinator, and/or faculty to ensure course consistency and quality.
  • Submit final grades and any required reports by established deadlines.
  • Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate relevant content into the course as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Business or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or graduate level is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and support a diverse student population.

Pay

  • Lecturer Equivalent: $8,000
  • Senior Lecturer Equivalent: $9,000
  • Assistant Professor Equivalent: $9,000
  • Associate Professor Equivalent: $10,000
  • Professor Equivalent: $11,000
  • Professor Equivalent "Distinguished": $12,000

Compensation is determined based on the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations.
