Failure Analysis Technician
About the role
Work with X-ray and CT techniques to assist in the development and failure analysis of consumer electronics. Scope includes radiography and CT scan setup and image acquisition on industrial CT scanners, collecting and processing CT data for review by FA engineers and cross-functional teams, consumer electronic system and part handling, careful handling and organization of lab samples, and cross-functional communication of data.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with FA engineers and cross-functional teams to analyze consumer electronics failures using radiography and CT scans.
- Set up and operate industrial CT scanners for imaging consumer electronic systems and components.
- Process and interpret CT data to support failure analysis efforts.
- Handle and organize lab samples carefully and efficiently.
- Communicate technical findings clearly and concisely within the team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities.
- Organize lab samples effectively to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Participate in swing and overnight shifts as needed.
- Occasionally cover weekends as required.
Requirements
- Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
- Experience: 2 - 5 years in a lab setting.
- Skills: Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects; well-organized; experience with failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, X-ray/CT, XRD, LIT, SEM, EDS, FIB, FTIR, GCMS, etc. is preferred.

Skills
- Experience with Failure Analysis techniques such as Optical Microscopy, X-ray/CT, XRD, LIT, SEM, EDS, FIB, FTIR, GCMS etc.

Pay
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $110,000. Final compensation will depend on various factors, including geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
Schedule
Availability for swing/overnight shifts required. Occasional weekend coverage also expected.
