Faculty Position - Sociology and Criminal Justice

About the role

The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Vanguard University of Southern California invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The mission of the Department is to equip student scholars with theoretical, methodological, and substantive knowledge to become professionally competent practitioners who are devoted to a flourishing society.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester (eight per year).
• Engage students in the integration of faith and learning.
• Teach across modalities.
• After the first year of employment, assume department and committee responsibilities.

Requirements

• Completed (or in final stages of completing) a Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology.
• A strong commitment to undergraduate education, including advising and engaging in research collaboration with undergraduates.
• A commitment to pedagogical methods that enable students across racial, ethnic, and socio-economic groups to reach their maximum potential.
• A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to an academically rigorous integration of faith and learning.

• A Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology.

Pay

• Assistant Professor: $60,595 to $81,501
• Associate Professor: $70,676 to $95,190
• Professor: $82,031 to $113,974

Schedule

Vanguard offers both tenure track and term faculty contracts; the type of contract offered will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications at the time of hire.
