About the role
The Faculty of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary invites applications for a full-time, residential position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Church History / Historical Theology within the Seminary’s Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program, with a starting date of July 1, 2026, and teaching responsibilities to commence in fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Offer graduate-level courses in areas of Church History and/or Historical Theology (Patristics)
- Engage in active scholarly publication
- Help students in undertaking guided research
- Be involved in institutional service through participation in standing faculty committees and working groups of the Seminary
Requirements
- Broad knowledge of Church History and/or Historical Theology
- Solid demonstration of the conduct of academic research within their discipline
- Be a faithful member and participant in the sacramental life of the Eastern Orthodox Church
- Agree to support and advance the established mission and purpose of the Seminary
Qualifications
- Terminal research doctorate (Ph.D., Th.D., D.Phil.) in either Church (Ecclesiastical) History with a concentration in Patristics or in Patristics proper, which has been or will be awarded before the date of hire.
