The Role
Grand Canyon University is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach Accounting courses at its main campus in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lectures that stimulate classroom discussions
- Bring accounting industry concepts to life for undergraduate students
- Network to provide internships and job placements
- Stay current in the field of accounting and effective teaching techniques
- Participate in faculty and CCOB meetings and College/University committee activities
- Support the integrity of the GCU Christian mission, faith integration & learning outcomes
Requirements
- MBA with an Emphasis in Accounting or Accounting related graduate degree
- Significant (5+ years desired), documented, industry experience in accounting
- Preferred: CPA and/or CMA
- PhD or DBA in Accounting
Qualifications
- Significant (5+ years desired), documented, industry experience
- Post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience in tax, audit, information systems, or accounting analytics
Skills
- Ability to engage students through interactive lectures
- Industry knowledge to enhance teaching effectiveness
- Networking skills to facilitate internships and job placements
- Continuous learning and staying updated in accounting and teaching methods
