Punahou Dance School is actively recruiting casual per diem Dance Teachers for the 2024-2025 School Year. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience teaching dance.
- Professional dance performance experience.
- Ability to motivate students and inspire their love and learning of dance.
- Demonstrated success in working with young dancers in a group setting.
- Project a confident, positive, helpful and professional demeanor in working with others, using tact, discretion, and diplomacy at all times.
- Possess highly effective interpersonal communication skills: verbal, non-verbal, listening and written.
- Will act as a role model, understanding professional boundaries on and off-the-job, especially when interacting with students, colleagues, parents and other visitors to the Dance School.
- Willing to collaborate and learn from teaching colleagues.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment towards continual professional development.
- Ability to take direction and respond positively to feedback from supervisors.
- Maintain professionalism in attendance, timeliness, conduct, and appearance.
Pay
Minimum Hourly Rate*: $40.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.
Schedule
Work Year: 10.5 Months. School Year: 2026-2027. Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM; Saturday, hours between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Hours may vary depending on course.
