About the role
This full-time, Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Faculty role, based in Austin, TX at Dell Medical School, Department of Neurology.
Responsibilities
- Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and/or other learners, using evidence-based educational methods.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
- Provide clinical care (at Dell Children’s Hospital).
- Supervise trainees.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team activities.
- Contribute to quality improvement and program development.
- Conduct or support scholarly activity such as research, publications, presentations, or educational innovation.
- Service on committees.
- Collaboration with community partners.
- Initiatives that advance Dell Medical School’s mission to improve health in the community.
Qualifications
- Relevant terminal degree (e.g., M.D., D.O. or equivalent) and board eligibility or certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical education, including curriculum development, learner assessment, and mentorship.
- Evidence of scholarly activity or potential for research and academic productivity (e.g., grants, publications, presentations).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to improving health outcomes for diverse communities.
- Ability to balance teaching, clinical, research, and service responsibilities in a dynamic academic environment.
- Prior academic or clinical faculty experience is preferred but not required; experience in community-based health initiatives is a plus.
