About the role

The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University is seeking part-time Faculty Associates to teach existing courses or develop new ones for the Biological Data Science Master’s program during the 2025-2026 academic year and beyond, in both in-person and online formats.

Responsibilities

  • Teach upper and/or lower-division courses to undergraduate and graduate students, in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.
  • Prepare syllabus, lectures and class materials, exams, and grade assignments and exams.
  • Maintain regular availability to students including office hours as appropriate to course modality.
  • Monitor student success and regularly respond to student academic issues.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in a related field.
  • Experience in teaching or developing graduate-level courses in-person or online in related fields.
  • Experience using online learning platforms and developing interactive course materials, including interactive videos, lectures, and assignments for online courses.
  • Experience in managing graduate courses.
  • Experience teaching or relevant industry experience, including working with profit or non-profit institutions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students.

Schedule

  • Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester.
