Primary Purpose
Participate in teaching, service, and scholarly activities for RVU-MCOM in Billings, Montana. Teaching responsibilities will include gross anatomy, anatomy labs, and physiology.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide education in anatomy and physiology, mentorship, and guidance to all students at the Montana campus in a variety of settings, including the classroom, laboratory, and a simulation center.
- Participate in all methods of curriculum delivery including, but not limited to, video presentations, live in-person and virtual teaching, labs, small groups, and simulation activities.
- Maintain discipline expertise through continuing professional education.
- Provide service to the University and the greater community by serving on committees, providing leadership, participating in community outreach events and working with professional organizations or groups.
- Demonstrate adaptability, enthusiasm, and the willingness to assist the University in fulfilling its mission and vision.
- Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and modification.
- Engage in scholarly activity including mentorship of student efforts in research.
- Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students, provide feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that the students of the COM meet the standards established by the faculty and college and obtain the knowledge, skills and competency established.
- Participate in the assessment or evaluation of and provide feedback to other members of the faculty.
- Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of professional actions and performance.
- Know and model the RVU Core Values in all aspects of work on and off campus.
- Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity within an atmosphere of access, equity, and inclusion.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of medical education.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the area of studied expertise.
- Demonstrate knowledge of varied curriculum templates.
- Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree (PhD, DO, MD, etc.) from an accredited institution with current Board Certification in appropriate area of specialization if applicable.
- One (1) year of academic experience teaching at a health professions school.
- Demonstrated productivity in the areas of clinical or professional service, scholarly activity, medical research, or education.
- Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of academic experience as a faculty member at a medical school.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in professional or educational settings.
- Demonstrations of published works of scholarly activity.
