As the Factory Digitalization Engineer, you will play a critical hands-on role in advancing digital manufacturing capabilities at our Voltage Regulator factory in Richland, Mississippi. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining manufacturing software solutions while also leading and supporting the local implementation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
This role combines software development, database engineering, and factory systems integration with on-site collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and IT teams. You will work closely with shop-floor users and the global MES template team to ensure MES solutions are technically robust, aligned with business processes, and deliver measurable operational value.
Responsibilities
- Leading the implementation, rollout, and stabilization of MES within an active manufacturing environment
- Serving as the primary technical point of contact for MES-related topics at the site while aligning with global standards
- Collaborating with the global MES template team to integrate local factory requirements into standardized solutions
- Supporting MES–SAP integrated processes, including production execution, material staging, confirmations, and reporting
- Designing, developing, and maintaining custom manufacturing applications, system integrations, and Oracle database components
- Driving continuous improvement by enhancing MES adoption, system performance, data quality, and end-user capability through training and support
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 8 or more years of experience in IT, software development, or systems engineering, ideally within manufacturing or industrial environments. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
- Hands-on experience developing, supporting, and maintaining software applications, with strong Oracle database expertise (SQL, tables, views, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Proven experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting production systems or custom manufacturing applications
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills in production-critical situations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across shop-floor teams, engineering, IT, and global stakeholders
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- Experience with Siemens Energy products and services
Skills
- Strong understanding of MES and SAP integration
- Experience with custom manufacturing applications and system integrations
- Oracle database expertise (SQL, tables, views, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Ability to lead and support MES implementations in a manufacturing environment
