Factory Commissioning Test Operator (1ST Shift)

About the role

We are looking for an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician to join our team in Lexington, NC. This person will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing next-generation light rail, locomotive, and coach vehicles. Candidates should be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
• Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures
• Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment
• Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards
• Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information
• Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds
• Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics
• Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles

Requirements

• High school diploma (or GED)
• 2+ years of experience in electrical testing
• Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics program education or similar preferred

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
• Specific vision abilities including close and distance vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Pay

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $46,002 – $53,958. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
