Facility Services Technician I

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and other places
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom cleaning)
  • Cleaning of air filters for the data center
  • Actively participate in safety policies and procedures
  • Promote open, respectful, and professional communication within the team with coworkers and leaders across the organization
  • Operate the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Maintenance System (BMS)
  • Participate in the inventory management of tools, parts, and equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, product labels, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform minor facility repairs and regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, grounds, and facilities
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust
  • Maintain building grounds (snow removal, landscaping upkeep)
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/teammates and leaders across the organization
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Willingness and ability to follow guidance from other staff members and management are required
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Basic understanding of email and office software required
  • A positive and professional attitude and a very high attention to detail are required
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment preferred
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawnmowers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools preferred
  • 1+ years of custodial experience preferred

Location

On-Site. Minimal travel between data centers may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 40 pounds.

This is a full-time, onsite position. Shifts may vary according to site. No supervisory experience required.
