Facility Maintenance Engineer II

About the role

Immediate opening for a full-time Facility Engineer with strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests for lighting, plumbing, comfort, trouble-shooting of general concerns within a tenant's space and perform repairs accordingly.
• Maintain proper communication with property management and tenants.
• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems, including mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, generators, primary switch gear), and hot water systems.
• Monitor operation, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action as required.
• Oversee the activities of contractors working within the building, whether representing the building or tenants.
• Keep records of building rounds and readings, engineering logs, and engineering data sheets.
• Provide advance training and notification to all contractors so they are informed of the building's critical functions and the work to be performed, including an incident contact response list.
• Monitor operations and conduct routine and ongoing assessments of building systems operations and performance.
• Perform tests and rounds to ensure the proper functioning of building equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two to five years' experience as a Facility Engineer preferred, but relevant training and demonstrated skills will also be considered
• Strong written and verbal English skills
• Basic to Intermediate data entry and general PC skills
• Universal CFC (preferred)
