Facility Maintenance - Cleveland Metropolitan Area

About the role

GEM Facility Management is a trusted adviser and leading organization in the commercial/industrial service industry, offering routine maintenance, repair services, and replacement/upgrade capital projects in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Building Controls, Ductwork Air Balance, Duct Cleaning, and Fire Damper Services. Based in Toledo, Ohio, GEM Facility Management serves customers in Toledo, Cleveland, Lima, Central Ohio, and southeastern Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from property manager/customer
• Perform general building/property maintenance and repair tasks
• Perform general building inspections and safety checks
• Support Property Manager as required
• Accurately follow processes and procedures
• Lift, push, pull, or carry weight of at least 35 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Remain on feet for 8 to 10 hours each day
• Travel to other facilities and vendors as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of applicable maintenance experience
• Minimum 2 years of painting experience, including wall surface repair, prep, and paint
• Two-year technical degree is equivalent to one year of experience
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles

Skills

• Basic tool and maintenance knowledge
• Good communication skills and ability to follow direction
• Computer, phone, and software knowledge
• Ability to work in conjunction with company safety policies, including lockout/tag out and proper fall protection
• Knowledge of required building inspections and safety checks
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC operations
• Ability to perform light electrical maintenance and repairs
• Ability to perform light carpentry maintenance and repairs
• Understanding of simple building systems/work orders
• Understanding of Building Management Systems/Building Automation Systems
