Facility Housekeeper

About the role

Housekeeper position at our food production plant in Theodore, AL. This role supports plant operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of all facility areas, including production floors, offices, restrooms, and break rooms.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and disinfect floors and surfaces as required.
• Empty trash bins, clean receptacles, and properly dispose of waste.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment and tools to support sanitation standards.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning materials.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers).
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Report maintenance issues, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs and checklists as required.
• Perform additional housekeeping or utility tasks as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or sanitation work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Excellent time management and reliability.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math and reading skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and sanitation requirements (preferred).
