About the role

The Facility Engineer II supports facility operations and capital improvement projects within a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include managing low- to mid-level projects, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the project engineer for low- to mid-level facility projects.
  • Develop project requirements and prepare purchase requisitions for facility equipment, services, and construction projects.
  • Cook up subcontracted construction projects involving demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, flooring, and furniture installation.
  • Manage subcontractors performing general construction, vehicle repair, rigging and millwright work, crane maintenance, and other facility services.
  • Review requested work, prepare work orders, inspect completed work, and approve payments.
  • Cook up and oversee activities throughout all phases of facility-related construction projects.
  • Review bids, statements of work, project authorizations, and other project documentation.
  • Submit purchase requisitions using Oracle-based software.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal customers and resolve technical issues of low to moderate complexity.
  • Track project expenses and ensure charges are assigned to the appropriate cost centers and accounts.
  • Complete projects within established schedule and budget requirements.
  • Aid in developing the annual facilities budget.
  • Support safety and environmental objectives by conducting area audits, addressing identified concerns, and supporting risk-reduction and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and promote a culture focused on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline and at least four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating facility, construction, or infrastructure-related projects.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline and at least four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment, experience within a defense manufacturing environment, experience using AutoCAD, experience using Oracle or similar manufacturing and purchasing database software.

Pay

Pay Range: $42.00 - $47.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
