About the role

Performs nursing functions and consumer care at a Facility Based Crisis Center including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility. This position relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited supervision and direction to provide quality services to crisis facility clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments and interventions with medications oversight and administration as needed.
  • Report client’s social, psychological, and physical behavior as indicated.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with standards of nursing practice that promote optimal health care delivery and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with confidentiality regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), national accreditation agency, and Continuous Quality Improvement; attend applicable meetings as necessary.
  • Use state guidelines, Quality Assurance Plan, and Client Rights Policy to ensure clinical operations comply with state regulations and update plans and policies as necessary.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, making recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, motivating, disciplining, and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Active and current LPN licensure in state of employment.
  • Two years’ experience as a nurse working with behavioral health clients (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of psychoactive substance abuse, dependency, and the principles and techniques based on best practices.
  • Commitment to the use of evidence-based treatment and preventative methods.
  • Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance required.

Qualifications

  • Pre-employment screening: Complete criminal background check, name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities).
  • Drug testing, education verification, and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required).
  • For positions that require driving: Proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and vehicle, if required for providing transportation for individuals.
