Summary

The Facility Assistant Manager works in all areas of the facility under the supervision of the Facility Manager. The role supports the Facility Manager to maximize collections, production, sales, salvage, and customer service. This position is considered in training to advance to Facility Manager. Open availability, including nights and weekends, a valid driver’s license with personal auto insurance, and successful background and driver record checks are required.

Education and Experience

Four‑year Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Three to four years of related production/retail management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience managing a team of 25 + employees.

Facility Operations

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in managing proper processing and separation of incoming donations, salvage, E‑Commerce, E‑Cycle, and E‑Waste.
  • Ensure the facility maximizes used‑goods processing through Production Standards: sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale.
  • Meet or exceed production goals on a consistent basis.
  • Maximize sales performance through proper stock rotation, display, signage, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly shopping environment, including floor care, fitting rooms, cash register areas, aisles, trash cans, lights, restrooms, glass showcases, window ledges, and doors.
  • Ensure doors, odor control, POS equipment, fire extinguishers, and restrooms are in proper working order.
  • Assist in maintaining the building exterior and parking lot (windows, doors, sidewalks, lighting, dumpster area, landscaping, shopping‑cart retrieval, signage).
  • Keep machinery and devices in proper working order.

Loss Prevention

  • Maintain a clean, hazard‑free facility and ensure safety procedures are understood and followed.
  • Report, investigate, and correct loss‑prevention matters promptly.
  • Oversee facility security: door locks, alarms, office door, bank deposits, refunds, safe, and incident reports.
  • Enforce proper cash handling, POS procedures, and submission of required reports.

Additional Expectations

  • Maintain a flexible schedule: minimum two evening (store‑closing) shifts per week and two weekend (Saturday and Sunday) shifts per month.
  • Attend mandatory management and training meetings; conduct monthly facility meetings.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development and Family Services to provide participant services.
  • Follow all Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest policies, procedures, and directives, ensuring safety of personnel and property.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality; violations may result in immediate dismissal.
  • Comply with health, safety, fire standards, and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

$24.00 per hour (full‑time, hourly).

Schedule

Full‑time position requiring open availability, including nights and weekends. Minimum of two evening shifts and two weekend shifts per month.
