About the Role
A leading aerospace manufacturing company in Valencia, CA is seeking a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support facilities upkeep, preventative maintenance, and manufacturing equipment reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance on manufacturing and facilities equipment, including CNC lathes, CNC mills, air compressors, ovens, test stands, Smog Hogs, chip extractors, autoclaves, and related production equipment.
- Add lubricating oils to CNC machines on a daily and weekly basis, change filters and belts as part of the preventative maintenance program, and replace filters and solutions for part washers.
- Track coolant and lubricating oil inventory for manufacturing equipment, assist with chip barrel removal from CNC machines, coordinate chip recycling pickups with outside vendors, and support proper disposal of e-waste and hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of completed corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout procedures, safety policies, PPE requirements, and NFPA 70E standards while supporting maintenance and facilities work.
- Assist with facility projects, including building and installing office furniture, installing whiteboards, setting up chairs and desks, arranging offices for new employees, supporting conference room and cafeteria setups, patching and painting offices or hallways, and helping prepare common areas for meetings or employee events.
- Support machinery and equipment moves using safe moving practices, assist senior technicians with repair, service, and overhaul of major production equipment, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 6S standards.
- Work closely with Environmental Health and Safety teams to support hazardous waste pickups and ensure proper handling, collection, and disposal of materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools, including drills, saws, screwdrivers, wrenches, levels, measuring tapes, and similar maintenance tools.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, follow verbal and written instructions, and read or interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and work safely around manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team on daily assignments, maintenance tasks, and facility projects.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, political asylees, or refugees) due to access to ITAR-controlled information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, CNC machining environments, industrial manufacturing, facilities maintenance, or production equipment maintenance.
- Experience with CNC machine preventative maintenance, coolant systems, lubrication programs, air compressors, ovens, autoclaves, test stands, chip extractors, Smog Hogs, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- CMMS work order experience.
- Forklift, man lift, or scissor lift experience or certification (on-site training may be provided).
- LOTO, NFPA 70E, hazardous material handling, 6S, and industrial safety experience.
