Facilities Technician 2 - Electrical & HVAC - The Shops at Park Lane Rack
About the Role
The Maintenance Technician II will help lead a team to provide a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager (FM) to ensure stores are ready for business daily by focusing on:
- Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational
- Responding to daily break-fix and on-demand requests, advanced troubleshooting, and delegating work orders
- Communicating with Store Leadership, supporting vendor relations, and assisting with administrative tasks such as ordering parts and scheduling meetings
As a lead technician, you will mentor other technicians while repairing and maintaining equipment and systems throughout the building. This position supports multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on-demand and scheduled preventive maintenance (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) on critical and non-critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Store Operations
- Operate and monitor building controls, critical and non-critical building systems, and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot alarms and verify proper building operation via EMCS command
- Conduct equipment and building rounds, readings, and report malfunctions
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Assist with administrative tasks including parts ordering, PO creation, vendor management, and attending job/project meetings
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding)
- Act as the face of the facilities team in store and vendor/project meetings; document and share outcomes
- Complete preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation and mentor other technicians
- Assist the FM with technical training of new employees on equipment and building systems
- Respond to location emergencies
- Maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for accurate equipment records and parts inventory
- Communicate and coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and property managers/landlords
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred
- 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience with an emphasis in mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functions, low-voltage signal tracing, and logical devices
- Ability to work without supervision and meet multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for all organizational levels
- Highly self-motivated with a strong dedication to safety and customer focus
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications
- Previous experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ordering system (Coupa)
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure
- Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance
- Project management experience is a plus
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours
Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay
Pay range varies by location:
- Allen, TX: $20.75–$34.25 per hour
- Denton, TX: $20.75–$34.25 per hour
- Frisco, TX: $20.75–$34.25 per hour
- Plano, TX: $20.75–$34.25 per hour
- Prosper, TX: $20.75–$34.25 per hour
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
