Job Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, functionality, and appearance of Proper Beverage Company’s facilities, grounds, and supporting infrastructure. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general facility upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. The Facilities Technician works closely with maintenance, production, safety, and leadership teams to support daily operations, maintain building systems, and address facility-related issues in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair activities throughout the facility, including offices, production areas, warehouses, and common spaces.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues.
- Respond promptly to facilities maintenance requests and work orders.
- Maintain facility equipment and infrastructure in safe working condition.
- Execute preventative maintenance activities on building systems and facility equipment.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and documentation.
- Monitor facility systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, compressed air, water treatment, disposal systems, and utility systems.
- Coordinate with specialized contractors and service providers when necessary.
- Auxiliary responsibilities include assisting with grounds maintenance, snow removal, ice management, and seasonal grounds maintenance activities.
- Assist with monitoring exterior lighting, signage, fencing, and building appearance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
- Document repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and facility improvements.
- Track recurring maintenance issues and communicate trends to leadership.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory for facility maintenance.
- Respond to facility emergencies and urgent maintenance issues as needed.
- Be available on an on-call, as-needed basis to respond to facility emergencies outside of scheduled working hours, including leaks, burst pipes, utility failures, and other situations requiring immediate attention.
- Assist in restoring facility operations following equipment or infrastructure failures.
Experience & Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required; technical training, trade certification, or related education is preferred.
- At least 2 years of facility maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related experience is preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or commercial facilities is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance practices is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously is important.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and maintenance documentation is required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is beneficial.
