About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical DC power systems, rectifiers, and battery backups to support mission-critical operations.
  • Lead installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities-including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and site security-to ensure near-perfect uptime.
  • Escort technical operations personnel to monitor uncleared visitors, contractors, or non-badged workers at all times to protect critical national airspace infrastructure, sensitive equipment, and restricted security areas.
  • Manage vendor oversight to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering/management.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required OR 4 additional years of experience.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks for critical infrastructure.
  • Background in physical security standards for facilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facility/building management.
    • Familiarity with sustainable building practices, LEED standards, or energy-efficient systems.
    • Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Pay

The target salary range for this position is $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
