Facilities Support Specialist (Full Time)
Description Of Position
The Facilities Support Specialist shall possess multiple skills in trades associated with renovations, construction, Safety, Life Safety and infection control.
Supervision
Reports directly to the Facilities Manager
Responsibilities
- Ensures all construction/containment equipment is cleaned and stored properly after each project.
- Ensures that all equipment and supplies are accounted for at the end of each day, notifies supervisor of any deficiencies.
- Successfully completes all assignments.
- Assures that job or project area is policed and all Life Safety and Infection Control measures are maintained throughout the project.
- Affirms that all ILSM and ICRA documentation is initiated at the beginning, maintained throughout and is documented at the end of each project.
- As required, must be able to read and interpret blueprints and or drawings and determine if any violation of Life Safety codes are apparent and initiate appropriate counter measures, to include educating the involved department and surrounding department(s) where applicable.
Education And Work Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two years experience in renovations, construction and or Life Safety.
Basic Mathematical skill in order to compute data.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Able to understand basic construction methods and practices.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must have good hand/eye coordination and have no color loss in eyes.
- Must be able to utilize intricate hand tools and testing devices and work with system components.
- May be required to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and stairs, push or pull varying weights.
- Must have good manual dexterity and have full range of motion in all extremities, good perception and field of vision.
- May occasionally work in semi-clean environments.
- Able to do shift work as required.
