Facilities Services Technician I (Part-Time)

About the role

This position performs entry-level janitorial duties for the Senior Activity Center and maintains the cleanliness of sidewalks surrounding the buildings.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wax floors
• Clean and disinfect restrooms
• Sweep or blow off debris and standing water from sidewalks
• Empty and clean waste receptacles
• Replenish all paper supplies and soap dispensers
• Set-up and take-down tables, chairs, and other room furnishings when requested
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of six months of experience or training in janitorial maintenance
• Working schedule outside of the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license or its equivalent from any U.S. State (occasionally needs to drive between city facilities)

Skills

• Basic computer skills, including the ability to place electronic orders using a mobile phone application
• Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, steel-toed leather boots, gloves, eye protection, head protection, safety vest, and ear protection
• Skill in operating assigned equipment tools and vehicles safely

Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds and pushes, pulls, drags up to 150 pounds
