Facilities Security Guard (PT $16.00/Hour)
About the role
Catholic Charities of Onondaga County seeks a Security Guard to join our team. Reporting to the Facilities Officer, the Security Guard will perform essential security tasks including routine patrols, responding to system alerts, leading tours, investigating suspicious activities, assisting with routine security needs, and providing after-hours access assistance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine patrols of the 82,000 sq. foot premises, both interior and exterior.
- Respond to system alerts and security alarms as prompted.
- Lead tours of the agency as required, checking windows, doors, and locks, and maintaining a logbook documenting findings.
- Investigate suspicious activities and disturbances.
- Aid in routine agency security needs as directed, adhering to security industry regulations.
- Maintain after-hours access to the property, monitoring as needed.
- Assist with other duties as assigned during work shifts.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- Additional specialized training, coursework, or skill acquisition related to the position is preferred.
- Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License, State Central Registry Clearance.
- Knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment is preferred.
- Attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay
The Security Guard position pays $16.00 per hour.
Schedule
This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week.
