Security Clearance: None/Not Required Collins Aerospace is seeking a Facilities Project Engineer to lead complex facilities projects and infrastructure initiatives across our site operations. As a Facilities Project Engineer, you will lead facilities system upgrades, capital projects, energy and water conservation initiatives, and infrastructure improvements while providing technical expertise across critical building and utility systems. You'll play a key role in troubleshooting complex equipment issues, improving facility reliability and efficiency, ensuring compliance, and supporting the site's Facilities Master Plan. In this individual contributor role, you will provide technical and project leadership while partnering with Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and external contractors to ensure facility systems, infrastructure, and improvement projects meet safety, reliability, efficiency, cost, and operational objectives. Your mission: Deliver world-class facilities solutions by improving infrastructure reliability, optimizing facility performance, supporting sustainability initiatives, minimizing operational disruptions, and ensuring safe and compliant site operations. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. What You Will Do: Lead facilities projects and infrastructure improvements across utilities, power, buildings, and other site systems in support of the Facilities Master Plan. Oversee critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, ventilation, UPS systems, generators, chillers, and related utilities. Lead facilities system upgrades, capital projects, renovations, and energy and water conservation initiatives to improve facility efficiency and sustainability. Troubleshoot major equipment and infrastructure failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring downtime. Coordinate building, equipment, and utilities maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance planning. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, resources, and operational expenses for facilities projects and maintenance activities. Coordinate and direct contractors, consultants, service providers, and equipment suppliers to support facilities projects and specialized work. Monitor building and utility systems, conduct facility inspections, and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, safety, and efficiency. Ensure facility operations comply with applicable OSHA and environmental requirements while maintaining accurate maintenance, project, and facility modification records. Plan and oversee facility layout modifications and office space relocations, respond to infrastructure emergencies, and provide technical guidance to Facilities technicians and cross-functional teams. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, ventilation, chillers, generators, and UPS systems. Experience leading capital projects, facilities upgrades, renovations, infrastructure improvements, and energy or water conservation initiatives. Knowledge of OSHA and environmental requirements related to facilities, building systems, and utility operations. Experience managing contractors, consultants, service providers, equipment suppliers, facilities budgets, and maintenance activities. Strong project management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills.
