Eligibility Requirements
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
- Be enrolled in at least half-time (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester
- Have a federal need of at least $2,000
- Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
- Have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
- Be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident
Students not awarded FWS may be added to the FWS Waiting List by emailing workstudy@csusb.edu. Note: Program funding is limited, and applying through the FWS Waiting List does not guarantee a FWS award.
About the Role
The Student Assistant position in Facilities Planning and Management supports daily administrative operations by providing general office assistance, managing communications, and maintaining organized records.
Responsibilities
- Provide general office support: answer phones, greet visitors, manage correspondence, and maintain office organization
- Handle administrative tasks: filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and special projects
- Assist with team projects and assignments
- Obtain defensive driving certification for golf cart operation
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work, follow oral instructions, and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
- Effective communication with all levels and proficiency in reading and writing English appropriate to the position
- Admission or registration as a CSU student
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative
- Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Social Security Card required for payroll
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate and 3.0 for graduate students
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Pay
Anticipated hiring range: $16.90 per hour. Compensation will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Schedule
- Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm)
This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal position. The position may close when an adequate number of qualified applications are received. Application deadline: August 30th, 2026.
This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.
Conditions of Employment
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required
