Facilities - Mont Vernon Village School - 5.5 Hours Per Day

Year-round, non-exempt position reporting to the Facilities Director or Facilities Lead Custodian.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Criminal background check as required by law (RSA 189:13-a)
• Pre-Employment Medical Examination signed by a Licensed Physician indicating medical capability to perform designated duties (RSA 200:36 and 275:3)

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and safety
• Clean floors, carpets, bathrooms, walkways, hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, walls, windows, and all other areas of the building and grounds as instructed
• Finish floors using strippers and final finishes
• Maintain effective lighting throughout the building
• Empty trash and maintain a safe area around dumpsters
• Ensure floor and building areas are safe and secure
• Unlock and secure doors and windows
• Maintain a safe area within and around the building by removing hazardous debris
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on school building needs

Equipment Operation and Safety

• Operate heavy-duty scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pick-up equipment
• Follow proper safety techniques and procedures; wear protective equipment when required
• Report fire hazards and other emergencies
• Perform preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment
• Use other assigned equipment as needed
