Facilities - Mont Vernon Village School - 5.5 Hours Per Day

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Applicants will be subjected to a criminal background check as required by law.
• Pre-Employment Medical Examination signed by a Licensed Physician indicating that the employee is medically capable of performing designated assignment.

General Duties

Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and safety.

• Clean floors, carpets, bathrooms, walkways, hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, walls, windows, and all other areas of the building and grounds as instructed by the supervisor.
• Finish floors using strippers and final finishes.
• Maintain effective lighting throughout the building.
• Empty trash and maintain a safe area around dumpsters.
• Inspect and ensure that floor and building areas are safe and secure.
• Unlock and secure doors and windows in building.
• Maintain a safe area within and around the building by removing hazardous debris.
• Operate heavy-duty scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pick-up equipment.
• Know proper safety techniques and procedures and wear protective equipment when required/requested.
• Report fire hazards and other emergencies.
• Perform preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment.
• Use of other equipment as assigned.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
• Demonstrate positive work habits by showing initiative, cooperation, dependability, efficiency, and productivity.
• Follow the guidelines of confidentiality as established by the school district.
• Attend and participate in relevant training sessions, meetings, and professional growth activities as requested/required.
• Perform in a professional manner when interacting with students, parents, faculty, administration, and co-workers.
• Abide by District Custodial Position Uniform Procedure.
