Facilities Mechanic 1

About the role

The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and capable of working in a collaborative team environment. They shall be proficient in maintaining all types of industrial flooring and have a broad and full understanding of other janitorial responsibilities for large commercial businesses.

Responsibilities

• Stripping and refinishing of VCT and ESD tile flooring
• Maintenance of VCT and ESD tile flooring
• Experienced in floor machine scrubbing, dam mopping, spray buffing and burnishing
• Adept in carpet care, vacuuming, spot/stain removal and operation of carpet cleaning equipment
• Fixing and maintaining janitorial equipment
• A strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task
• Previous janitorial experience in manufacturing and laboratory spaces
• Internal/external moves of company and personal items, help with desk and cube set-ups etc.
• Non-custodial related general maintenance activities may also be required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Demonstrate an aptitude to inspect cleanliness conditions, determine needs, and perform appropriate processes
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Work independently while meeting predetermined requirements
• Use industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Lift 50 lbs
• General computer skills

Preferred

• 5+ years’ experience in custodial, janitorial or general maintenance positions
• Experience working in electronic manufacturing environments
• Experience working in ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) sensitive areas
• Experience working in FOD (Foreign Object Debris) sensitive areas

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $40,000 - $64,000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
