About the role

The Facilities Manager will lead, manage, and develop the premises, health and safety, and cleaning operations across a cluster of school sites. The post holder will ensure all locations provide safe, clean, compliant, and highly functional learning environments while directly line-managing site-based teams and external contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage premises, health and safety, and cleaning operations across multiple physical sites
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements
  • Manage multi-site teams including line management, rota & cover management, and training & development
  • Oversee maintenance and capital works including planned & reactive maintenance, contractor management, and site security
  • Enforce cleaning operations and hygiene standards and manage stock & equipment control
  • Manage financial and environmental sustainability including budget management and energy management
  • Engage in regulated activity working with children

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing facilities, estates, or operations across multiple physical sites
  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Multi-site team leadership experience including line management, rota & cover management and training & development
  • Health, Safety & Statutory Compliance experience including statutory testing, risk assessments and audit readiness
  • Maintenance & capital works experience including planned & reactive maintenance, contractor management and site security
  • Cleaning operations & hygiene experience including standards enforcement and stock & equipment control
  • Financial & environmental sustainability experience including budget management and energy management
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate

Schedule

The role is to start in September and will either be a permanent position or a temp to perm after a 12 week period.

Pay

All candidates must adhere to our stringent vetting procedure which includes a face-to-face registration, professional references, and an Enhanced DBS. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
