About the role

Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.

Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.

Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.

Uses hand and power tools.

Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.

Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

May act as a team lead and assistant to the supervisor / manager.

Delegates tasks to other team members and is responsible for the review of work product.

Trains, delegates and reviews the work of lower level employees and may be responsible for leading daily operations of a work team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of Facilities/Maintenance experience.
  • Nice to Have: Background in multiple maintenance trades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding, or HVAC); Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance programs; Familiarity with CMMS systems for work orders, asset tracking, and maintenance documentation; Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams; Experience troubleshooting automated or semi-automated equipment; Prior experience leading or mentoring maintenance technicians or acting as a lead; Knowledge of safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA requirements; Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and communication; Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

Physical Job Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.

Benefits

Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations (USD): $69,600.00 - $104,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.

Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.

Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
