About the role
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing maintenance and repairs of office and building facilities, facility structures, equipment, machines, and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Perform work in one or more maintenance trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, machine and equipment repair, and HVAC.
- Conduct routine, periodic, and special inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
- Perform trade work such as carpentry and painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures (e.g., walls, roofs, office fixtures).
- Perform preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment according to established procedures.
- Provide general building construction services for new construction and renovations (e.g., framing, drywall, taping, texture, painting, flooring and base, doors, frames, and hardware).
- Respond to and complete facility tasks and maintenance requests from managers and internal customers.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.
- Set up and operate tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
- Observe all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies when conducting business on behalf of the company.
- Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years’ experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field, with strong knowledge of construction and facilities maintenance principles.
- Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record (DMV verified).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and specifications.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize work orders and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Effective analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to document work and interface with all levels of personnel, contractors, and vendors.
- Safe and proficient use of common hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 lbs., and to work both independently and in a team environment, including extended hours as required.
Preferred skills
- General building and facilities maintenance in commercial or industrial environments, including preventative and corrective work.
- Interior repairs and finishes, including:
- Patching, drywall, texture, and painting
- Interior walls and partitions
- Doors, ceilings, flooring, carpet, and tile
- Basic plumbing (fixtures, sinks, drains, troubleshooting).
- Basic electrical (lighting, switches, outlets, minor repairs).
- Basic HVAC troubleshooting and filter replacement.
Pay
Hourly salary range: $56,180 – $83,518
