About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facility equipment and systems. This role focuses on maintaining building infrastructure, boiler operations, and HVAC/Refrigeration systems to support efficient production and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain the spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
- Document all work performed in the computerized maintenance work order system (e.g., Red Zone) with accurate, detailed information.
- Collaborate with the production team and maintenance leadership to address urgent repairs and facility improvements.
- Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure, including utilities such as water, gas, electric, compressed air, and vacuum systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support the implementation and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
- Monitor boiler operations and address any issues or abnormal findings.
- Auxiliary support to Maintenance Technicians as needed, including assisting with repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Work with external contractors and internal teams to complete maintenance projects on time and within budget.
- Provide feedback and insights to the Senior Maintenance and Facilities Leader to improve maintenance processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational training or certification in facilities/industrial maintenance, HVAC, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of HVAC systems, commercial/industrial refrigeration, and boiler operations is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in maintenance or related technical roles (1-2 years) is a plus, but not required.
- Exposure to food manufacturing environments or familiarity with industry safety standards is beneficial.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in cold environments (down to 32°F) for extended periods.
