Facilities Maintenance Specialist (Part-Time)
About the Facility
The IAFF Center of Excellence is a first-of-its-kind behavioral health treatment center located on a 15-acre campus in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The facility is dedicated to providing specialized care exclusively for members of the fire service community, offering a range of services including treatment for PTSD, substance use disorders, and other behavioral health challenges.
Core Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks within established timeframes
- Perform general maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and landscaping repairs
- Ensure all building systems and life safety systems are functioning properly and maintained according to regulations
- Aid in maintaining compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance concerns and inspection recommendations
- Cookordination with contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or projects
- Sustain the appearance and functionality of facility grounds and common areas
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Be available for occasional on-call maintenance needs
Requirements
- Prioritize high school diploma or equivalent
- Preference for 2 years of professional experience and training in areas such as repair contracting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facility cleaning, and related fields
- Prove proficiency in maintaining a high level of awareness to address and report matters timely
- Show the ability to respond to emergent situations pertaining to the facility and use good judgment in addressing and reporting them
- Show the ability to be a team player and successfully interact with diverse groups of employees, clients, and management team to perform tasks and complete assigned work
