Facilities & Maintenance Safety Manager
Role Scope
Own EPA and RCRA hazardous waste compliance end to end: manifests, generator status (LQG/SQG), and accumulation area management under 40 CFR Part 262, plus licensed disposal vendor audits.
Administer the GHS and HazCom program and SDS library, and manage Maximum Allowable Quantities of hazardous chemicals per IFC/NFPA 400, coordinating with the Authority Having Jurisdiction and the Maricopa County fire and air authorities on control areas, permits, and inspections.
Own the facility-wide Job Hazard Analysis program: set standards for completion, review cycles, and sign-off across all job classifications, and audit for quality.
Capture and manage the facilities safety and hazmat program budget and the disposal and consultant vendor relationships, and manage and develop the environmental and safety technicians assigned to the program.
Coordinate SPCC and EPCRA spill prevention and emergency response, lead drills, maintain a trained spill response team, and keep the master environmental compliance calendar at zero missed deadlines.
Bonus
Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) experience.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credential.
Air permit record-keeping or emissions reporting experience.
Compensation
$105,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
