About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of building systems, manufacturing support equipment, and facility infrastructure across Zurn Elkay campuses. This role partners closely with Operations, EHS, Security, and site leadership to ensure facilities and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Facilities & Maintenance Operations: Support day-to-day maintenance and facility operations across owned and leased locations.
  • Facility Support: Assist with maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, boiler, and other facility systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Reliability: Develop, improve, and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and schedules using CMMS systems.
  • Project Coordination: Support facility improvement, renovation, and capital project activities.
  • Vendor Management: Manage outside vendors and service providers supporting maintenance and facility operations.
  • Facility Layouts & Infrastructure: Utilize CAD software to maintain facility, warehouse, and racking layouts.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a skilled trade environment will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or commercial facility operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, or industrial systems.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD software.
  • Ability to write and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and documentation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Up to 50% travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS).
  • Experience integrating technology into facility operations.
  • Experience supporting facility layouts, racking systems, or infrastructure planning.
  • Journeyman license or relevant trade certifications a plus.
