Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Electrical Specialist to join our team in Bowers, CA.

About the role

This is a fast-paced industrial production environment. The role involves supervising and documenting technical support, direction, scheduling, safety training, and audits for Amentum Technicians at the Bowers Foundry location.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and/or manages the entry of correct documentation and scheduled maintenance via Maximo.
  • Performs reactive/corrective maintenance as reported and distributes tasks to available technicians.
  • Leads the safety program for Amentum technicians at the worksite and maintains associated reporting.
  • Audits work performance for safety actions and quality of work; provides coaching as needed.
  • Maintains effective performance of individual employees and the worksite team.
  • Reviews and approves time reporting for Amentum technicians at the worksite.
  • Compiles, maintains, and presents various reports to Amentum management and client teams.
  • Oversees vendor deliverables, conducts quality inspections, and performs performance assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Ten years of experience in a technical role related to industrial Production Maintenance and/or industrial Facilities Maintenance or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of supervisory experience in industrial Production Maintenance and/or industrial Facilities Maintenance.
  • Ability to work from aerial lifts and scissors lifts at heights up to 30ft and above.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • Valid Driver’s License may be required.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location.
  • May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules based on client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade school credentials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Experience in a supervisory or subcontract management capacity within a technical industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership experience analyzing Facilities Maintenance problems (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Cranes and Hoists) and determining solutions for improved asset reliability, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and delivering them to large audiences.
  • Experience developing and training a multi-skilled technical workforce.
  • Experience creating metrics and data mining for driving performance results.
  • Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or 4 M’s.

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive wrist movement for some tasks.
  • Extensive walking throughout facilities during the workday.
  • Ability to read and understand information in documents or on computer screens.
  • Ability to use office equipment and operate a computer keyboard for databases, messaging, and document preparation.
  • Ability to attend meetings on-site and travel to other Amentum, customer, or vendor locations, including occasional air travel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, one-on-one discussions, group meetings, and presentations.
  • Fluency in computer use, including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Ability to move light to medium-weight materials into storage locations.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

  • Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Ability to cope with job-related stressors while maintaining acceptable performance levels.
  • Effective communication with the client, Amentum management, and team members.

Pay

Hiring salary range: $130,000.00 – $140,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws.
